Questions have been asked by many all over the world in this last week, how do we respond to the murder of Charlie Kirk? How do we respond to tension, complexity and negative spiritual atmospheres that want to drive intimidation and fear?
Vitality important questions. Because it is a lie to believe we can see something like this and not be affected.
These questions are worth sitting with for the sake of our own heart health if nothing else.
But this is only one part of the equation for us as Christians. The other question that is vital to sit with is, what is God doing at this time?
Last weekend I watched God answer.
As we and others partnered together at Ascend Worship Conference and ministered in different churches, God moved in power.
People came asking for prayer, expressing how they had lost vision or were struggling with unprecedented levels of anxiety and inadequacy with the overwhelming atmosphere of intimidation.
As people turned their eyes to God, He released a supernatural joy and freedom of the likes I have not seen in a few years.
God always responds to a sacrifice of praise especially when it is offered from the dark depths of heartbreak.
“to strengthen those crushed by despair who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful bouquet in the place of ashes, the oil of bliss instead of tears, and the mantle of joyous praise instead of the spirit of heaviness..”
Isaiah 61:3 TPT
Lean in and praise! Lean in and receive His joy and freedom.

The greatest challenge to advancing in your life, gifts, leadership and call is dealing with intimidation. We live in an atmosphere drenched in it. From Business emails to the school gate, intimidation is setting culture. Not since the 1800’s has this word been used so much in literature, communications and society. Made any phone calls to Businesses or Government Agencies recently? The first thing often heard after “Hello. You have called….” is the statement that no abuse will be tolerated towards the staff. Intimidation. It is not just a behavior rooted in fear but it is also spirit. Can you recognize it? Do you know how to deal with it as you live, love and lead?
