PROPHETIC DREAM - Shaking to Reshape
DREAM 1.
Early one morning last week I dreamed of experiencing a continuous shaking. It was deep in the ground and went on for a time. I saw individual after individual standing on the land swaying as the earth quaked while behind them the sun was dawning.
A new day is rising on the earth.
I heard the Lord say, “I am shaking again the heavens and the earth.”
DREAM 2
I awoke but very quickly the Lord took me into the memory of another dream.
In this dream, a friend of ours saw himself as a janitor carrying in one hand a bucket and in the other, a broom. Near the end of a large hallway, he saw a door open with light flooding out through it. It drew him.
As he cornered around and through the doorway, he realized he was entering the throne room of God. Awash with light and awe, he stood there.
The Lord God looked and smiled. He then asked, “What is it that you have in your hands?’
Our friend looked down and realized what he had walked in with. Leaning closer he saw in his hand a bucket with a word embossed into the metal, fear. Glancing across to his other hand, was a broom with the words etched in the handle, selfish ambition.
The Lord looked at him and said, “Son I see what you have walked in with. That bucket of fears has a way of splashing out and making a mess for everyone. Fear doesn’t belong in my throne room.”
He smiled. Continuing, “I see the broom of selfish ambition in your hand. How attractive it is to arrange life so it looks good, happens your way, on your terms and in your timing. But you can’t bring selfish ambition into my throne room. Selfish ambition has no place moving forward.”
The Lord God went on, “Son there are three forms of motivation in the human heart. Fear and selfish ambition are strong drivers. But the strongest of all and the one I respond to is love.”
SHAKING TO RESHAPE
As a new day dawns, God is visiting and shaking our motivations. He wants us free of anything that will in the end destroy us.
He is reshaping us and creating something new in this shaking.
The motivation of selfish-ambition and fear he is addressing right now.
The glorification of self and fear He is confronting. He is nailing us with the question, “Are you in this for my glory or yours? Will you choose my name, my timing, my ways over yours?”
We are fashioned to give Him glory.
While shaking is never easy, it is a blessing from Him. His motivation is from love.
CHRISTCHURCH RESPHAPE
Between September 2010 and the end of 2011 the city of Christchurch in New Zealand, experienced 4 major earthquakes and more than 11,200 aftershocks. These earthquakes changed the ground conditions, increased the water table, and destroyed historic buildings.
What resulted from this was an opportunity to rebuild a city using enhanced design and new technologies. A new Christchurch was birthed from the shaking.
Your shaking as one of Christ’s Church doesn’t just impact you. Your shaking is changing the ground conditions around you. It impacts the wider community. It impacts the generations after you.
Haggai prophecised ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.” (2:9)
When God shakes us, he reshapes us and enhances our design so it can hold the new He is bringing forth.
In everything God does, radical redemption and radical reversals are the signature feature of His glory.
It’s what He does and it’s what makes His glorious!
Get Practical
I invite you to look down at your hands right now and ask Jesus have I been holding to the wrong motivation?
If you sense the motivations in your heart have become mixed then look at your left hand…
You’re welcome to pray this prayer.
“Jesus I repent for making fear (name specifically what ie. fear of what people will think, fear of lack of provision, fear of criticism, fear of backlash from the devil or humans) my motivation and allowing it to drive my choices, my speaking, my decisions, my responsibilities, my life.
I have agreed with and empowered a demonic spirit of fear. I now reject this now and renounce my partnership with that. I ask you to take me and centre me back in your love.
I thank you that “There is no fear in love; but your perfect love casts out fear.” (1 John 4:18)
Now look at your right hand…
Jesus I ask you to forgive me for driving my life and responsibilities from the motivation of selfish ambition. I repent and I ask those ungodly choices, actions and words to be burned up and not planted in the soil of my soul and others soul.
Centre me back in love for you as my motivation.
Thank you Lord Jesus that you love to redeem and bring about radical reversals. I receive your reshaping of me amidst the shaking. Thank you, you will be glorified through the new you are bringing forth in my life.
