Is God inviting you to pick up a unique and extremely needed sword of breakthrough and swing it?

God wants to once again manifest Himself to the world as the Breaker.

WHO IS THE BREAKER?

Micah prophesied, “The breaker [the Messiah, who opens the way] shall go up before them [liberating them]. They will break out, pass through the gate and go out; So their King goes on before them, The Lord at their head.” (Micah 2:13)

Micah was prophesying of the coming of Jesus and the work He was anointed for. Here the Bible names Jesus the breaker. He carried the spirit of breakthrough securing our eternity, transforming and redeeming our lives as He broke the bondage of sin and death for all time, for all humanity.

When Jesus began His ministry He announced, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
    for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,
   that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free,” (Luke 4:18)

Jesus is the Breaker. It is one of His names.

WHAT IS A BREAKER ANOINTING?

A breaker anointing is a catalytic gift where the power and purpose of God breaks through from heaven into the natural realm. A breaker anointing opens up the spiritual atmosphere so the will and heart of heaven invades earth.

The Breaker anointing is given by the Spirit of the Lord for the purpose of breaking through every obstacle, breaking chains of oppression and hindrance to release the good news of the Gospel on a greater unprecedented scale. 

It shakes loose anything that holds God’s people back from coming into their destiny and inheritance. 

The Breaker anointing often precedes a move of God in a family line, region or nation. Therefore it is often the core anointing of the apostolic for advancement. The impact of the breaker anointing on individuals, families, churches, areas, socio-political structures, belief systems is they get revolutionized. This anointing is for transformation – transformation of individuals, cities and nations to the Kingdom of God.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A BREAKER ANOINTING

How do you know if Holy Spirit has given you this anointing? You may begin to notice things like:

• A discontentment and irritation in an area of responsibility or your personal relationship with God for more. You know there is more in God. You know you cannot tolerate what currently is happening especially where the smell of death, decay and smallness pervades.
• Increase in creative desire and thinking that is outside the box. 
• Increase in dreams and hunger for God’s word
• Increase in sensitivity to presence of God and feeling His heartache of compassion for a people group, issue or region. He often releases a ‘burden’ that can result in deep intercession and a sense of being ‘compelled’.
• Holy Spirit will use others to confirm and speak phrases like breaker, breakthrough over you. Years ago I received repeated prophetic words of a breaker anointing and along with Mark my husband, All4Him was founded working now in Australia, Europe and USA. God will confirm his gifts and calling especially where it brings transformational change. He will begin transformation in you first because only transformed people, transform.

WHO HAS A BREAKER ANOINTING?

One of history’s great Breakers is Cameron Townsend, the founder of what would become the world’s second largest Mission agency, Wycliffe Bible Translators. Discontent and heartbroken during a visit to Guatemala where he discovered that the Cakchiquel people were thought as “inferior and uneducated members of society”, he disagreed. 

Cameron Townsend knew from anthropological studies that any civilization that had made a positive impact on the world, did so with Christian/Biblical values. He believed that every human being, man, woman or child, should be able to read God’s Word in the language of their heart.

Today over a century later. 1.8 billion people in 103 countries are being served by Wycliffe Bible Translators, with Bible Translation being done in more than 4012 languages worldwide. In May 2021, every 120 hours a new language was engaged with Bible translation, now in 2025 a new bible translation begins every 14 hours. (For more encouragement)

I’m sure Cameron Townsend had no idea of how far the impact of the Breaker Anointing would be. He just saw the people in front of him and began with them.
