“And the Philistine (Goliath) drew near and presented himself forty days, morning and evening.”  1 Sam 17:16

Over the last 3 months many have been experiencing unprecedented persisting challenge. This morning as I began the day, I sensed the Lord say, “Goliath will fall.” Three times the Lord repeated, “Goliath will fall.”

Goliaths have a way of being quick to greet us when God advances His call and gifts in us.

It is 1024BC David is 15 years old when he is anointed the next King of Israel (1 Sam 16). Immediately in the same year, the Philistines gather their armies together against Israel. Goliath, their lead challenger. 

A new God ordained season is being contested right now in your life and the lives of our nations.

THE FOUR AREAS BEING CONTESTED

For forty days morning and night, Goliath presented himself and taunted the army of Israel. Has there been something that has been presenting itself morning and night taunting your faith in God, your mind, your body, your finances? These four areas: faith in God, the mind, physical body and finances the enemy has been intimidating God’s people in over the last 3-4 months especially.

Intimidation always threatens harm, plays mind games with our confidence in God, and attacks our sense of adequacy. “Goliath came forward and challenged the Israelites as he had done before. And David heard him. When the Israelites saw Goliath, they ran away in terror. “Look at him!” they said to each other. “Listen to his challenge!” (1 Sam 17:23-25)

The invitation and upgrade that is available to us right now is what are we looking at and listening to? Both David and the Israelites heard Goliath and saw him. But only one group listened. The battle is not in hearing Goliath, the battle is in listening to him.

David heard but did not listen to Goliath. The opportunity in the advance God has set, is being ruthless in listening only to Him. Goliath will always have an argument as to why your finances, your body, your mind and your God is inadequate and not enough.

We “demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5)

God is releasing knowledge of Himself for you in this new season – Goliath will fall. Take that thought and listen to it.
