I was driving to go do some shopping the other day when the Lord spoke these words.
“The heart of a human is what really directs them. The natural realm doesn’t govern you, the spirit governs the natural realm. I am spirit. I live within you. You carry me. When you received my governance, it affected all things. What is inside you, affects outside you. You are under a different governance and therefore a different dynamic operates.”
We are so conditioned to expect externals to change when actually it is about being internally transformed and governed. Paul said to Timothy, “God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of love, power and self-control.” (2 Tim 1:7) The transformation of God results in us knowing how to be governed and directed by love, power and self control.
God is committed to reordering us.
Bill Johnson says, “Our true nature and personality will never come to fullness apart from His manifest Presence. Learning to host Him is at the center of our assignment, and it must become our focus so that we can have the success He desires before Jesus returns.” (Hosting the Presence: Unveiling Heaven’s Agenda)
Not long after getting saved, one of the first disciplines the Lord instilled in me was that of regularly meeting with him. Little did I know then that He was teaching me how to carry Him, how to host Him.
The way and when of a deliberate intentional space with Him has changed many times. Some seasons it’s been creating space at midday, other seasons it’s been during the night, while other times have been just before sleep or at dawn.
That’s part of how He keeps it fun, keeps it in the realm of adventure and teaches me how to host Him. We are under a different governance, where what happens within us, governs the external. He is happening in us.
God is reordering His people in this season. Embrace the reordering, you have chosen a different governance, one of the Spirit, where the spiritual governs the natural.
