Season of Tension and Fireworks

How to do Tension Well

PROPHETIC VISION

Read Time – 2 Minutes

Back at the end of May, the Lord spoke to me in a vision. In this vision I saw a section of land that had been cleared of trees and bushes by large earth moving machines. A long ravine had been dug so that it was not fully visible from the surface.

Locked into place in this ravine were casings to hold fireworks. There was a long circle of them in this ravine. It was only at that moment I became aware that the ravine which seemed to be a line was in fact a circle.

I then saw a hand turn over the calendar. Immediately and unexpectantly the fireworks began to go off. One by one at a steady pace. I had not seen them ignited, there seemed no apparent warning on the surface that they were being lit. They just suddenly launched and exploded into a night sky.

One after another in a continuous sequence the fireworks went off, lighting up the dark nighttime skies, and I became aware as I watched on of increasing tension.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

We have turned into a new season and it is one of tension and fireworks. As it began so shall it end but in between there will be restless waiting that will produce sudden continuous color (it won’t be boring), quick movement and awe as things once aligned have grown to a new level of independence and maturity.

Be prepared to release and bless if you are in leadership. Be prepared to shift and change in your financial strategies. Be prepared to keep putting a demand on your hearing from God outside of your normal preferred ways or focus’. He is a God that loves to “do a strong thing: he will come and do an unusual deed.” (Isaiah 28:21)

DON’T MISUNDERSTAND TENSION

It is so easy to misunderstand tension, especially when it appears suddenly in relationships, finances, health situations, atmospheres and even the most mundane of chores and tasks we are trying to complete.

It is likewise also easy to turn in on others, ourselves, even God when tension presents.

Tension comes when pressure is applied causing strain, tightness and stretching. It is always a precursor and acknowledgement of change that is being pursued or in need of.

What makes tension most challenging, is when that strain, stretching and tightness happens unexpectantly and for a period of time. So how do we do tension well?

HOW TO DO TENSION WELL?

There are somethings we need to know about tension.

#1. Lean in and value it. Tension produces something.

It is necessary for all string instruments like pianos, guitars, bases, etc to hold their key. If tension is released on any one of the strings, that instrument is out of tune.

God is tuning you, your family, your work and/or ministry team to the note and alignment He needs for this hour. Don’t be surprised when alignments relationally, financially and future directions get re-arranged.

#2. It is not personal, it is a season! Do not take the devil’s bait to make it personal. You are in this season because God chose the time and season for it. It is not personal, so don’t take it personally nor make it personal about others.

Take responsibility for what comes out of your heart and mouth. Stuff will come up in your heart, lean in, don’t avoid, shut it out, numb it or shame it. What’s in your heart is being tuned! There is a growing discernment that needs you to back it. Learn to hold tension well.

#3. Part of tension is waiting. Waiting is not weakness. In the waiting let it work you, let it grow something in you. You are being made aware in the waiting. You can’t avoid the waiting. Waiting well comes when we have one sole determination, “I trust you God, I surrender.”

Catching the wind of Holy Spirit to pivot where He is going comes when we surrender and trust Him and Him alone. When we can do this in our own personal lives, we learn how to do that mid-church service, mid-business deal, mid-booking flights, mid-conversations.

Protect your “yes” to Holy Spirit.

This is a season of tension and fireworks. Enjoy the God display.
