What others hearDecember 20th, 2006It is always interesting to hear how others perceive what you have to say, I was encouraged by this. Mark Food out of seasonDecember 8th, 2006Helen received a word from God today, and as I read it I was really impacted by it and I thought that it was incredibly profound. God said to her As I read this I was strongly impacted by the thought of seasons and how western affluence or influence can provide food out of season. God has been talking to me a lot lately about seasons. About how He does now and always has worked in seasons, this is how He set up the world. Yet success even in Christian circles is more defined by our ability to get and have what we want when we want it; for our worlds to be seasonless. The Lord has impressed on me how arrogant is it to think that we know better than Him what is best for us. We do not fully know what the next 10 minutes will hold let alone eternity. So how can we know what is best for us? How can we set the schedule? God is good and loves us deeply and works for the good of those who love Him. Romans 8:28. When we truly know and believe this then we can trust and fully hand over our lives to God. If God is Jehovah Jireh, our provider, and He works in seasons, surely this ability to get things whenever we want them is something to be treated with much caution? Is this western ability to ‘get food out of season’ a core bad thing in the body today? Do we look to where things are coming from, or do we look to God whether or not things are coming on our perceived time scale? For God to be everything, then we need to become nothing otherwise He isn’t everything! We need to decide if we want our diets to be everything we can get when we can get it, or if they are to be just what the Maker provides. |
