When we are living aware of the presence of God, we are living in response to the Father. We are no longer living in reaction to what the enemy of God is doing, or to the opinions of people, the latest knowledge, the latest understanding. We are living in response to the Father.
Living conscious of the presence of God is the greatest joy and adventure of our lives. You were built for something bigger. You were built to show there is a King who is with us!
Everything about us is wired for connection. Our DNA is literally wired for connection. We seek connection and can’t live without it.
Try being in a room with no TV, no internet, no phone, no other human being, no pet, no creation for any length of time. You will instinctively seek out something to connect to. We have been programed to be connected.
Living aware of the presence of God, is living connected with Him.
SO WHAT IS THE PRESENCE OF GOD?
When we talk about presence of God. What is that? What is presence? How would you define it?
The Dictionary defines Presence as
: distinctive atmosphere, energy field that emanates or surrounds a living being: an aura
: something felt or believed to be present
: a special quality or feeling that seems to come from a person, place or thing
The bottom line is that we always meet the presence of a person before we meet the person.
How often have you been out walking and you see someone coming and you sense something about that person?
How often have you met the presence of a person as something unexpected happens while driving? You look in the mirror and you feel the presence of that person as they wave their hand and move their mouth!
Knowingly or unknowingly, consciously or unconsciously we experience presence.
We have been made to experience and feel the presence of God. He carries an energy that created the world, that sets time, and gives meaning to every breathe. We have been made to engage and carry His distinctive presence that changes the atmosphere!
1 Peter 2:9 says of you, of me, “for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.”
You were chosen to carry God! You were built to be a resting place for someone who the world is crying out for though they do not know it. You were chosen to be a tabernacle for His glory!
When we live responding to the presence of God not reacting to everything, everyone and the devil, we are partnering with the movements of God.
We see this in Jesus life. He modeled this. John 5:19 says, “So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.”
WE ARE IN A SHIFT
This is a shift. We see in the Old Testament when the High priest is touched by an unclean person, the High Priest becomes unclean. In the New Testament, we see an unclean person touch Jesus and the unclean person becomes healed, becomes clean.
When we value what the Father is doing, it shifts us from a position of being powerless and to a certain extent needing to be rescued, and our prayers coming out of that space.
When I practice consciousness of the presence of God I move from being needs focused, to becoming a powerful warrior of courage that partners with Jesus, partners with what the goodness of God is doing. I become aware of His glory, His person, His energy, His capacity to do absolutely anything!
We were chosen to be what He rests upon and to release His presence. As we do this we show literally the goodness of God to a dark, lost world.

What Others Are Saying
“The 2 Day Challenge is a great way to focus on building on your relationship with the Lord our God. I love how Helen encouraged us to practise listening to God, and how growing in this area will strengthen our faith and increase our sense of peace and joy in living every day in His presence. I love how we were supported to be vulnerable, and allow God to take over the process, to know that He wants to take our burdens from us and guide us down the right path. Doing the Challenge in this mindset meant that it was a peaceful experience, as we practised trusting the Lord to have our backs no matter what we were doing or learning. It was great to understand why we need a special place for the Lord in our homes and how honouring this space will build our relationship with God and help us grow our trust in Him. It was really helpful to have practical ideas on how to interact with God in this place and how to set our minds and hearts on Him. I highly recommend this Challenge for anyone who wants to grow in wisdom in the area of connecting with the Lord on a daily basis, and learning how to ‘set apart’ your time with the Lord as something sacred and essential to your walk with God.”
