Tabernacle – Heaven’s last day’s weapon reaching the nations.

“After this I will return and will rebuild the Tabernacle of David,
which has fallen down;
I will rebuild its ruins and I will set it up; so that the rest of mankind may seek
the Lord, even all the Gentiles who are called by My name…”
Acts 15:16-17

This may be the most life changing thing you are about to hear.
Hear with your spirit. Not your mind.
Hear the breath of God.
Hear.

He is coming again.
Jesus is coming.

He is doing a new thing.
Are you ready for this?

In a moment HE is doing a new thing.
In a moment.
Do you want this moment?
Are you ready for this?
The Lion of Judah is coming!

Imagine a space, a space so full of the presence of God that it beckons you like a warm fire on a cold night. Picture a rest, a peace, a joy like you have never known before. A presence so warm, so full yet so intimate, wooing you again & again.

You hunger for more but leave so full. This presence evokes the noblest in you, & releasing a spontaneous praise & worship from the innermost parts of your being. It will
make you long to minister to Him as you encounter love itself.

This is the experience of discovering Him face to face.

Seeing Him changes us.

This is the space that we call the Tabernacle.

This is the experience of David – the boy, the man, the King who passionately loved God. “David danced before the Lord with all his might.. willing to act like a fool in order to show my joy in the Lord” (2 Sam 6:14,21).

This is what the Apostle James declared God would restore & rebuild, & it would cause all mankind to seek God.

This is the womb of revival!

Amos prophesied it, Jesus declared it, His disciples begun the fulfillment of it in the Church of Acts, Bangor in Ireland &Herrnhut in Germany continued in it, now it is our day & time! We are living in the last days before the return of Jesus &there is a way He wants us to ‘witness’ them out. This is heaven’s last day’s weapon.

Why is this important?
The Tabernacle is important because God wants “to give you a future and a hope.”(Jer 29:11) God is wanting to revive His people! When it comes we will receive power to finish the task Jesus left us – to be witnesses of Him (Acts 1:8, Luke 24:47-53). This is about a hope & about a future that is now & is for us. He has a plan &
purpose for our lives!

There is an adventure available for each of us! Embrace the adventure of experiencing Him as He is. God longs for us to know Him more than to work for Him. It is possible like Jacob, the Father of Israel or John the Baptist who Jesus said was the greatest born of men, to say, “I did not recognize Him” (Gen 28:16 & John 1:39). God wants us to recognize HIM & what He is doing.

The Lord also wants us to know how much we are in the last days. He wants us to know the times & seasons & what we should do (1 Chron 12:32, Luke 21:29-31). His return is close. Your children could see Him return!

What is the Tabernacle of David from Acts 15:16?
· It is first & foremost a place of intimate relationship with God.
· It is an “Alabaster box” where time, space, people are ‘wasted’ (like the oil in the Alabaster box that was poured out on Jesus – see Matt 26:6-13) doing something to Him.
· It was where people ministered to the Lord by
– recording & remembering
– offering Him thanks
– abandoned worship to Him
– prophesying
– waiting on Him
– reading His Word. The Ark of the Lord (containing the words of God written on stone tablets) was central in both the Tabernacle of Moses & of David as it represented the presence of God. You cannot separate His words from His presence! (2 Sam 6:17, 1 Chron 16:4, 25:1, Isa 57:15)
· It is His throne room where His plans are unfolded (Heb 8:1, 2, Isa 66:1, Psa 132:7, 1 Chron 28:2).
· Finally the restoration of the Tabernacle of David cannot be disconnected from the restoration of Israel, “because this is foundational in the natural. Fully restored Israel requires both the Jews & the nations.”1. This is the ‘one new man’ Paul speaks about in Eph 2:15. Rik Joyner further explains, ‘The Jew has always been a prophecy of the condition of the nations. The spiritual seed of Abraham, those who are grafted into the vine by their faith (the Gentile Christian), and the natural seed of Abraham, the Jew according to the flesh, will join in purpose. When they do, it will open a bridge between the heavenly realm and earthly, leading to the restoration of all things lost by the Fall.’2.

Where is mankind now?
“Our bones are dried & our hope is lost, we ourselves are cut off.” (Ezek 37:11). Such is the condition of the people of Israel by & large, & so it is for most of mankind. People say what God is doing seems to be somewhere else with someone else. People are experiencing an isolation that is more than geographical; they are losing hope & feel cut off.

Yet such are these “times of the Gentiles” (Luke 21:24). Jesus likened them to the days of Noah &Jonah (Matt 24:37, Luke 11:29-32, Genesis 6), where the heavens & earth would shake, men’s hearts would fail them from fear, nations & men filled with so much evil they could not “discern between their right hand & their left hand..”(Jonah 4:11). The result of this is dry bones.

It is believed that 28% of the world’s population are still unreached by the witness of Jesus. The majority of these are in the Pacific/Asia region.3.

This is the context for the restoration of the Tabernacle of David in this day.

What is beginning to happen? Good news!
The picture does not end here. God asks Ezekiel to prophesy. “So I prophesized as He commanded me, & breath came into them, & they lived, & stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army” (Ezek 37:10). The power of the breath of God! The Hebrew word used here for breath is ‘Ruach’ this word means “wind, breath, spirit”.5. It is the same word used in Genesis 1:2, “..And the Spirit (‘Ruach’) of God moved upon the face of the waters” & in Joel 2:28, “..I will pour out my spirit (‘Ruach’) upon all flesh..”

There is a consistency in the ways of God. We witness this consistency (echo) in the Old Testament & the New, when He calls a group of people into His presence to minister to Him, resulting in a great out pouring of His spirit.

There were two Tabernacles before the Temple. The Tabernacle of Moses revealed the holiness of God while the Tabernacle of David bought a sacrifice of praise & worship. In all cases, the presence of God came in a dynamic tangible way that caused the nations to seek God, even Queens (1 Kings 10:1).

This echo was witnessed again in Acts, when on several occasions the disciples gathered together in one place, in one accord, praying & worshipping,& the Holy Spirit was poured out upon them impacting the people around them (Acts 2, 4:31). God now bought His presence to not only a space where they all met, but to the space of their human bodies. The Tabernacle of David was being restored & James declared this after both Jews & Gentiles were filled with the presence of God.

The echo of God’s way continued in the centuries after this:
Bangor, Ireland – 555AD, Comgall (516-601), a Celtic monk & his coworker, Columbanus gathered 3000 monks in Bangor (the High Choir) where for the following 300 years they prayed, sung & sought the presence of the Lord. During this prayer & worship, under the breath of the Lord they went to ‘barbaric Europe’ & bought the good news of Jesus. This was the first Celtic Missions movement. 6.

Herrnhut, Germany – 1727, Count Nicholaus Ludwig Zinzendorf (1700-1760), a German nobleman gathered persecuted Christians to his large property in Germany, called Herrnhut (the Watch of the Lord). They began a prayer meeting which continued 24hours a day for 120 years, resulting in the Moravian movement – the first Protestant missions movement. 7.

The result of God’s ‘Ruach’ coming into the dry bones was that they stood up as an ‘exceedingly great army’. The Hebrew word for exceedingly is ‘me’od’. It means “speedily, fast, quickly, loud, far, appointed time”.6. In China today, some 30,000 people are becoming believers every day! In Africa, 18,000 people are becoming believers every day! 8. In parts of America today a revival not seen in that nation since the start of last century is occuring. God is reviving people in a vast & fast way.

After declaring the Lord would restore the Tabernacle of David, Amos says, “Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once…” (Amos 9:13 TMSG). As we speak hundreds & hundreds of Tabernacles are being raised up by God around the world; even in His beloved nation of Israel – just as Isaiah prophesized (2:2-3)!

Since the 2004 Tsunami in militant Islamic Indonesia, 150 Tabernacles have been established resulting in over 60,000 people finding Jesus! 9. God is hastening things in its time (Isa 60:22).

The second largest mission agency in the world, Wycliffe Bible Translators, believes that there are now only 193 million people speaking 2000+ languages left that don’t have the Scriptures in their own language. By 2025 they aim to have begun translation in all remaining languages. This means only 3% of the world’s population is still to get the bible in their own tongue, but how God esteems these people that He is delaying His Son’s return until they know of Him! Every 5 days a new bible translation begins. 10.

Jesus declared that “when the gospel is preached in all the world as a witness to all nations, then the end would come” (Matt 24:14). We are getting close!! Jesus is being lifted up & men are being drawn to Him (John 12:32).

What is the challenge for us?
· Embrace God’s ways & new players. As you read this, the world’s media is knighting a new world leader, China. In July 2009, the Australian media declared that “The Chinese century has begun.” (ABC News)

Pastor George Annadorai of India declared in 2005, “This is Asia’s moment. But if that is to happen, then we must make room to play the second-half-of-the-game on very different terms.

In the first half of the game, the dominant players who started in the book of Acts (30AD, all the way up to the end of the first half) were players like Europe & America. If it were not for you, we would never have known the Gospel. Thank you, Europe. Thank you, America…

In this second half, we are to play it in a different way, & the key is the Tabernacle of David. That is the strategy. ..Islanders are coming in. Then along the way the Chinese, the Indonesians, & the Indians will come in. We must make room for them all. This is not our game. Along the way, God will bring in new players: the Arabs.. And then finally, we hear, “Israel, get in!” The Jews will come in. Now we have the one new man in full gear. The enemy has no chance, absolutely none!”11.

The interesting thing about these second-half-of-the-game nations is that they are primarily 1st nation’s people, indigenous, not immigrants. The distinctive of first nation’s people is that they are predominately story tellers, extremely pictorial in their communication, fundamentally relational before task, uniquely musical, spiritually active people. By their very nature, they will present God’s breath to the valley of dry bones in a different way (Isa 42:9-12).

Today in many Arab nations, people are becoming believers through dreams – this is God’s medium for many first nations’ people. How intriguing that the very nature of the Tabernacle of David is experiential, creative, where pictures, dreams & the otherness of our God can exist!

Are we ready to embrace God’s ways & His new players?

· Pray & watch for Australia & New Zealand’s moment. Intriguingly right in the midst of Asia are the only 2 Western nations in the southern hemisphere. Located at the ends of the earth & part of the “residue of men” spoken about in Acts 15:17, Australia is yet to experience both a national revival in its history, & the fulfillment of its prophetic name “the great southland of the Holy Spirit.”

It is poised, standing at a crossroads. It is the only Western nation within 10 hours flying time of 60% of the world’s unreached. This nation is one of the leading political figures on the Asian landscape. It has a unique position in knowing intimately both Asia & its wealthy European/American counterparts who we believe, are now being invited into a spiritual parent role in these last days. It has been prophesized over Australia that, “The Lord put this (attraction to adventure) in the Australian heart for the purpose of mobilizing one of the great missionary forces in history. In the coming years, Australian missionaries will be found close to the great spiritual advances in almost every country.” 12. This nation has a critical role to play in this hour & a unique one. But it needs to discover all that is the Tabernacle of David & experience the out pouring of the spirit of God to be His witnesses in these last days.

What can I do? An invitation…
“Let’s be silent before Him, remembering that Jesus is here. He is the great King. Seated on His throne where every nation, tribe, tongue & people will one day bend their knee. Before doing anything, may you present your gifts to the King. No one appears before the King empty handed. You are invited to humbly present yourself to the King. You are the gift He wants. Say to Him, “I offer myself to you. Teach me this one thing— to minister to you. I offer myself & I hold back nothing, Lord. Receive me.” His pleasure is over you. His smile is over you. He delights in you.

Now offer Him a second gift: your nation. Offer your nation as a gift to Him. Your nation belongs to Him. It is He who created your nation. Present your nation to Him & say, “Lord I present to you a second gift, my nation. Receive the nations, O Lord, receive the nations.” Haggai (2:7) prophesied that the nations would come to you, for you are the ‘Desire of All Nations’. We now present our nations before the One who is called the Desire of All the Nations. Receive our nations, O Lord, represented here. Thank you Jesus.”

If the spirit of God has moved you while reading this, yield to Him.

He is doing a new thing… you can be part of it.
